  Sunday August 10th 2025 -  I got in from the Saturday night shift at twenty past five, and drifted to sleep a little after six in the morning.  A minute or so after ten in the morning, I woke up for the toilet and looked at my phone. I noticed that I had missed phone calls and messages from my aunties Carol and Ann, as well as a fairly recent message from my younger brother James. They were all asking me to contact them.  I had a feeling that I knew what it was, but I didn’t want to believe it. I messaged my younger brother James, who then rang to tell me that Mum had passed away sometime around 7:30 in the morning.  I messaged someone at work about it, who let a Director know. People point skyward, initially with hope - assuming Superman has arrived to save the day from whatever danger approaches. But their expressions quickly shift to confusion, then horror. / The figure descending from the clouds resembles Superman, but something is terribly wrong. His face is chalky white and cracked like dried mud. His costume is a backward, disheveled version of the iconic suit, the S-shield reversed and distorted.
