The Strange Brew Podcast - 15 November 2024: *Tony Banks reveals the creative exploration that defined Genesis' sound and his personal foray into orchestral music. From early influences that shaped the band's evolving approach to reflections on composing landmark tracks like 'Firth of Fifth, Tony shares stories that go deep into his and Genesis' legacy. [I agree with Tony, in that his orchestral release that was titled 5 was overlooked, because it is an absolutely gorgeous album, full of some incredible classical styled music. Superb music played in this episode included Blackout, Prelude to a Dream, The Knife, The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway, and Evidence of Autumn.]


Matinee Heroes - 16 November 2024: Greg is joined by guest co-host Derek McCaw to look at the classic Alfred Hitchcock directed film Vertigo. Starring James Stewart and Kim Novak. Before they look at the films they talk about other stuff including conventions, television, getting up early, short term thinking, and more.   Sunday August 10th 2025 -  I got in from the Saturday night shift at twenty past five, and drifted to sleep a little after six in the morning.  A minute or so after ten in the morning, I woke up for the toilet and looked at my phone. I noticed that I had missed phone calls and messages from my aunties Carol and Ann, as well as a fairly recent message from my younger brother James. They were all asking me to contact them.  I had a feeling that I knew what it was, but I didn’t want to believe it. I messaged my younger brother James, who then rang to tell me that Mum had passed away sometime around 7:30 in the morning.  I messaged someone at work about it, who let a Director know. I misunderstood a message telling me to talk to Wayne in the office on the Monday morning, so got ready for work at the usual time, and showed up at the office at 4:40pm for the five o’clock start, to find that Andy had come in to cover for me, and was told that I was also covered for t...
