  Saturday February the 27th 2021 After getting in from work, it took a couple of hours for me to fall asleep, so I got less sleep than I would like to have had.   Friday February the 26th 2021 So, I woke up in the afternoon at some point, lol. Great memory there Marv!  Louise had missed a phone call from our Landlord’s agents, so I rang them back. It must be to do with the gas problem. After the gas inspection the week before, it stopped working the following morning (Thursday). He came back on the Monday, got it back on, and it went off again the next day. I sent him a message and he said he’s come on Thursday. He came on the Thursday and reported that he was initially flummoxed until he looked into a part of the boiler that collects waste. That’s the problem - that is meant to empty into the drain pipes, but they’re blocked, so someone needs to come and sort the drain pipes out. So, here on Friday I was calling the agents who said someone would be coming to do the drains on Thursday. Six days later. They said it would have been sooner if they heard from me about the problem sooner, rather than from the gas inspectors.  So, I didn’t mention i

  Thursday February 25th night shift Quiet night, not much happened. I had to slightly alter my listening for two reasons... Firstly, I think I was over-stretching with what I thought I could get in, mainly because I’m off for nine days from Tuesday, and I don’t usually listen to podcasts at home. Secondly, Andy on the Mobile 2 run (I was on Mobile 1 ) likes to chat on the phone, and I don’t like to be rude.   Tuesday to Thursday 23rd to 25th of February 2021 I didn’t get much sleep once I got home late from work on Tuesday morning. I woke up at around 1:30 or close to that, and then had to be quick getting everything bagged up and taken to the launderette before they close at 3. At 3:45 I had a great conversation with Gerry Edwards, CEO for Podcast Radio, about the work that he and Podcast Radio do. That night we watched the films Flora & Ulysses, and I can’t remember what the other film that we watched was, but we watched it with a Spanish Rioja. On Wednesday I recorded a great episode of Pods Like Us with John Nicholson of Songwriters & Original Songs.  I let Tom the gas man know that once again there was no hot water or central heating working, to which he said he would show up on Thursday. I asked if that would be in the afternoon, and he never answered.  We watched the film Pushing Tin, and some episodes from season two of New Amsterdam, this time while enjoying some Rosè.  W

  Monday February the 22nd 2021. Hmm... I got to sleep at around 8 o’clock I think, and woke up at about 11:30 because of the gas man being due. After their gas inspection last Wednesday, suddenly we had no hot water or heating.  He decided to come on Monday, and said it would be the afternoon, and no specific time... He turned up at 4:10pm, so no chance to grab forty winks before leaving for a five o’clock start. My colleague, Ken, is off, so I’m covering the earlier start (and finish) shift. I got into trouble for turning down a job. Hey. I didn’t want to stay past my time! That’s the problem - if an alarm comes in then I have to go to it, no matter how close to the end of the shift it is. I’m not fond of that, but it’s how it is. Okay... Under normal circumstances I get it. However, the job in question was in an area where there was a driver with nothing to do for two hours after my finishing time, and I have never worked their sites, which are in a different county.   Sunday February the 21st 2021 I got up late, at about 2 o’clock I think, because I didn’t get to sleep until late.  I fitted in picking up an eBay parcel from Argos, and going to Asda, before finishing off the edit for a new episode of Pods Like Us, which this time is the show with Ethan from Fans On The Run (and When They Was Fab), which was built from recordings made in the middle of November and last week (the middle of February). When I got back home for a break, I snagged a small few seconds segment out of the episode before posting it online. There were a few things at work, and I didn’t get everything listened to that I intended on, but still got a fair bit of listening done!
