Three days off work

Monday April 25th 2022 -  Asleep around 9am after the later finish than wanted at work, and then went to Tesco on the way home for bits that we didn’t get on our shop on Friday. I woke up at about 11:15am, and in the day found the time to finish  editing the 2 hour and 12 minute ad free version of the NFL episode, which I then posted up onto my Patreon page - www.patreon.com/podslikeus    For dinner Louise made a lovely toad in the hole, which I think was served with lovely potatoes and peas.  Our viewing included The Great Big Tiny Design Challenge (a programme that Louise is following where people make things for a doll’s house), and the most recent episode of Gogglebox. After this we watched the first ever episode of Gogglebox.  Lights out at around 2am I think, and a terrible night’s sleep. Stanley Tucci Searching For Italy  Tuesday April 26, 2022 - I think that I got up  at 11:15am, and was really tired from a terrible sleep. Relaxedly got ready to go out food shopping, and do o

I’m back to listening to Film Sack again, as I love the show. Apparently the show started in 2009, and I listened to every single episode from episode one (about the film Krull) until around October 2020, when I got sidetracked by listening to guests’ shows for me to make Pods Like Us.  It’s something that I need to somehow try and work around, which I hope at some point to do with the initiation of seasons, but that hasn’t worked so far. If truth be told, I was introduced to the show through my friend Matt Blick, a guitarist and songwriting friend of mine, who is an absolute nut about The Beatles, and he mentioned on his blog that he had listened to an episode of a film Sack about the film Caveman, which stars Ringo Starr as, you’ve guessed it, as a caveman among many other cavemen and women, one of which was his future wife Barbara Bach, former leading Bond girl from The Spy Who Loved Me.  It was the film that introduced them to each other, although she had apparently seen The Beat

Just two days at work

Photo from here -  https://wanderingthenorth.com/driving-the-country-lanes-at-night/ I had booked some time off work, but didn’t get what I’d intended to have, because there isn’t the staff to cover. That’s why I had Thursday and Friday off, but it was supposed to be longer than that. I had booked a run off, which would be Thursday to Monday as holidays, to give me nine days off work. As it turned out, it ended up being four nights off, two nights at work, and then three nights off.  So, working Saturday and Sunday.  Saturday April 23rd, 2022 - I absolutely loved being a guest on an episode of When They Was Fab before going to work. I went straight from the office to an alarm call, which wasn’t anything untoward.  I think that all weekend I was pissed off because essentially I should have been off, if I didn’t work under a rubbish operations manager, who doesn’t know how to manage operations.  It was a busy night because of that fairly distant alarm. I’ve put the details elsewhere, b

Once again it was a case of me listening to shows to keep up with some regulars, because I was just working two shifts and then having three nights off. Longer if I win the lottery jackpot! The ‘casts - (Notes spoken to Siri, and edited later if I remember)! Film Sack - (1:39) episode 542: January 27 2022: I’m working on getting back to listening to this great show, which was my introduction to podcasts back in the late noughties! Presented by Scott Johnson (who also does so many more podcasts that including The Morning Stream, Skim, and Current Geek), Brian Ibbot (who also does the excellent music podcast Coverville), Randy Jordan, and Brian dunaway (who used to make a great comic book based podcast). Mark Wahlberg. Brian D sees Batman Begins similarities, Randy has three rules, and Brian I sees more tropes than a little. “a film based on a video game that is based on films...” Dunaway loves Ludacris! Ludabias. What’s in Ibbot’s sandwich? Being The Ricardos. Die Hard. John Wick. Letha

I listened to what I could, because I’m only back at work for two nights, and I had an episode of my own show to listen to, so that I could hear any problems with the zoom feed.  When recording the show I found that Talor couldn’t connect to Zencastr, as he was using a mobile phone, so had to use Zoom. I prefer not to use Zoom, as Zencastr gives me audio from each person’s own computer, as opposed to recording what signals I get from my end.  I keep asking Zoom why they can’t do that, but obviously there is no response.  The ‘casts - (Notes spoken to Siri, and edited later if I remember)! Things We Said Today - (2:17) episode 364: April 22 2022: Ken, Darren & Allan look at the career of Wings. The news at the beginning was over half an hour long! There is a lot going on in the Beatles world at present. There were some great points made, and I am of the mind that if Bruce Springsteen is in the Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame as well as The E Street Band, then why can’t Wings? Are the Wrec

Time off

Tuesday April 19th 2022 -  After getting in for about 7:10am from work, I got off to sleep at 9am, and was woken up by a call on Louise’s phone charging in the bedroom , which was the landlord about the issue with the hob. That was at about a quarter past ten. Louise received another call at about 20 past eleven, at which point I thought “sod it, that’s my sleep for the day then.” Louise had made a delicious orange cake on Sunday, which I had my first slice of today. Yum! As a point of interest, I thought that Louise did an incredible job of the fondant rose that was on the top of the cake. Well done darling. X Wednesday April 20, 2022 - Wednesday was a relaxed day.  It couldn’t be anything else at the moment, as the money isnt there to do anything, or the fuel for that matter. I keep seeing American friends posting up fuel prices over there and think to myself “that’s for a gallon, when we pay that for a litre”. There are 4.56 litres in a gallon, so we pay 456% more. At around 11am
