Saturday January the 30th 2021

Got in from work at ten to six in the no morning, and didn’t get to bed until after seven, falling to sleep about an hour later.

I woke up a couple times even with earplugs in, and woke properly up at a quarter past two pm.

Then I got carried away with social network notifications before getting up to make a drink and have something to eat an hour later.

No time to record my slot for Gill’s show, which I hope to do somehow later!

My shift started at 5pm, and at 5:45 pm I received a message to say that my dad had gone into hospital again with heart problems. He’s apparently doing okay though.

I’ll keep worrying even though I’m told not to!

They went into a fascinating interview then with John Lee Hancock, the writer and director of the film The Little Things, which he wrote shortly after the Clint Eastwood directed film A Perfect World, which John wrote (a film that I love). Now around 28 years later the script has become a film starring Denzel Washington, Rami Malek, and Jared Leto. Jake vs Sean - “ Kyle Chandler is a god damn national treasure. You will not besmirch the name of Kyle Chandler!” Kevin needs grounding of reality. What? They’re talking about King Kong vs Godzilla for crying out loud. It’s escapism. There are lots of films that have no grounding of reality, such as the Fast & Furious movies, and so many more! I’m with Jake! The talk about a Harry Potter world television series. Hmm... Fantastic Beasts put me off! 500 million people have watched the film soul on Disney+! My favourite film of 2020! Great choices for the Denzel Washington blend game, and they want to do Terence Blanchard for the next one, to have answers in for probably Monday! 

Phase Zero - special guest is the fabulous Tom King, writer of so many great comics! In a scoop, Vin Diesel apparently last year told presenter Brandon Davis that he’d been talking with Taika Waititi about all of the guardians of the galaxy characters being in the next Thor film! I can’t say what they said about episode four of Wandavision!

The Yes Podcast - The hosts speak with Billy Sherwood about the band and self-titled album Arc Of Life. It’s funny how Billy was being secretive about the forthcoming new album by Yes. Well, the “official” version of Yes anyway.
