The Blurb -
I woke up at about twenty past three in the afternoon, feeling a bit refreshed, even if it was under six hours of sleep.
I put the files from the show last night through my software to smooth and level the sound, placed them in line, placed the intro and outro music, created an mp3, and set it up for release on Sunday.
Of course I also had a trip to the supermarket to do before work, and picked up a surprise for Louise from the Amazon locker therein.
The surprise for Louise - a Funko Pop figure of her favourite baseball pitcher, Gerrit Cole from the New York Yankees. Well, we are only 50 years young! |
7pm start at work this time, and listening wise it started with me going through another episode I’ll be releasing in the future, and taking notes of where there are cut outs in signal, etc.
The good thing about this is that I can now edit that episode accordingly, and I may do that with other episodes that are already recorded…
I need to get some more booked, because I’m getting a bit thin on episodes in the can now.
That’s what happens when you have six weeks off recording, which is what I did.
After that it was a fairly decent night both work wise and listening wise.
This coming Sunday’s episode already up on the site ready to go live. |
The ‘Casts -
The Delta Flyers - Garrett & Robbie are looking at the episode Tattoo. It’s starts with Robbie mentioning his insecurities. NFL stuff. Garrett’s limerick and Robbie’s response. “Warp particles” “Mr Vulcan” orchids. David Caruso was the first male bottom to be seen on US television in an episode of NYPD Blue. The Robert Beltran “butt crack!” - CGI’d after the studio complained that they couldn’t see it! Live call to Robert Beltran. Phone call to a cast member. It’s an episode all about butts!
2 Legs: A Paul McCartney Podcast - Tom & Andy are talking about the documentary series McCartney 3 2 1. It will be on Disney+ in Europe in August. Oh man, the Yesterday story again? Perhaps he’s intending this to be a series that gets everything out there, including what we’ve heard before. Prepare for season two next year!
My Classic Album with Mike Norris - Mike is chatting with guest Emlee Johansson about the great Powerslave by Iron Maiden! Early release episode as Mike is away on August 1st. That list of episodes in that Mike has put our and those he’s not released yet but recorded are incredible, including speaking with Phil Collen from Def Leppard talking about Aladdin Sane by David Bowie. Great chat about drums and the producer Martin Birch. Hidden Easter eggs on the album cover! Bruce & Adrian wrote Two Minutes To Midnight in twenty minutes. There’s a break for the song Driving In Style by Thundermother, the band that Emlee is the drummer for.
Keeping Up With The Cardassians - Joe listening to Tom Petty, then getting up and making everyone breakfast. Nick’s kid Eli slept through everything. After Nick gives a list, Joe & Rob have to pick three singers to bring back. Joe - after John Bonham died, Led Zeppelin never recorded or played together again until the shambolic Live Aid performance, and then again in the 2000’s for a charity concert. They released the album CODA after Bonham died, but that was made up of cutting room floor material. Telly Velly Football. Nick goes down a rabbit hole checking out Limp Bizkit. Rob points out that Wayne Manor from the forthcoming The Flash film is the same one as in the 1989 Batman film. Joe & Nick mention the Twitter posts asking for shows to listen to. Advert for a podcast - Ocho Duro Parlay Hour. Rob is a “triple R”! The episodes they’re looking at are Life Support and Heart Of Stone. Life Support features Lisa Turtle from Saved By The Bell in two scenes. The episode Life Support makes them discuss euthanasia. Ad at the end for the Hops Geeks podcast.
No Fear Finance - July 27 2021: Sara is explaining about what a Cash Managment Account is.
We Were On a Break - episode 17 Nov 4 2020: starts with them laughing. This episode is a very honest discussion about the repercussions that an affair caused emotionally in their relationship. This episode is like a transitional crossroads, where they are at a stage
The Queenpod - mini episode 8: Ro, Suze, Simon & John are looking at the song Save Me. Oh... Both this song and crazy little thing called love were recorded during a gap in touring, with them returning to the studio after touring to record an entire album for those songs to be included on. That is why both of those songs were included in the set list a year before the album came out.
You Should Have Ghosted - July 27, 2021: starts with advertisements. Lizz starts with a warning of what will be mentioned in the show. A true crime and comedy podcast about the dark side of dating Lizz & Shana. The “Plenty O’ Fish” killer. The answer to their question about why killers think they could get away with hiding bodies and come up with lies, it’s because they don’t realise that they are stupid, and that they will get caught. Three women accused a guy of knowingly giving HIV to them, to which an alpha plea was given. “A tinder bro-file for you…” Lizz reads Stephen King and Shana reads Kurt Vonnegut. “I have a missed connection from Craig’s List…” Jessica Rabbit. “Walking on Oak Street…” “this one’s pretty bad, are you ready?” A magazine called Ebony. “I won’t get turned on in a good will!” Ad at the end. I understand that.
Nothing More Annoying - July 29 2021: this time Luke is annoyed by the sun. The first reason that Luke is on about, where is talking about the heat in England, and the humidity, I must say that I have a problem with that as well but mainly because of being a night worker, wait for all that time that we’ve had that great weather allegedly, I’ve actually had trouble being able to stay asleep in the day between shifts, which makes me incredibly tired at night when I am trying to drive for a living. Too bright. Sunburn.
Digging Deep with Robert Plant - season 4 episode 5: this time they’re talking about the song Life Begin Again from the Afro Celt Sound System. First up they talk about what lockdown has done to dreams. Robert has been having dreams of being with John Bonham, his son, his father, etc. Matt’s been dreaming that he could play the ukulele. Robert plays his nylon strung guitar all of the time tuned to DADGAD.
