Sunday August the 29th, 2021 -

The Blurb -

After if taking until nearly 9am to get to sleep, I woke up at 2pm. Breakfast and a drink, followed by finishing the new episode of Pods Like Us, where I chatted with Bobby from The Rock Guys.

It was just a case of putting the promos in place, which is still time consuming, because you have to make sure that they don’t spoil the flow of the show, whilst at the same time ensuring that you’ve aligned them correctly, which I have messed up before.

Some bits to do in the night other than the usual work, but otherwise okay.

Some areas were difficult signal wise, and I ended up listening to the episode of We Were On a Break using Spotify, as the version on Apple Podcasts just would not start.

I had to search for that using “wwoab”, as it didn’t come up when searching “We Were On a Break”.  However, when the page came up, I noticed that changes have taken place on Spotify, as the episode list is much easier to navigate than it was before.

A message in passing…

There is still only one episode for Morgs’ show Doh’cast. You okay Morgs?

Got home for 6:30am and stayed up to spend a little bit of time with Louise, as I felt bad about some private stuff…

I had an attack in the night which was probably my first ever panic attack, but by god it felt like a heart attack!  The pressure and stress is getting to me.

New episode of Pods Like Us -
Pods Like Us meets The Rock Guys

The ‘casts -

(Notes taken by Siri - other AI’s are available).

Mission Impodible - (0:53) episode 1: August 4th 2020: Aaron, Alex and Rose. Ha ha ha, I see what they are doing here... The first impossible mission film, sorry Mission Impossible, had my introduction section of about 15 minutes where basically every single member of the team was killed other than Tom Cruise. They are re-enacting it for this episode where all of the presenters bar one die in the introduction. Okay, so it’s actually Nathan & Aaron presenting the show, or is it? Justin & Frank joined for this episode. They’re talking about their ages when the film came out. I was between 25 and 26 when this came out. Good shout out there, where one of the presenters points out that Tom Cruise was really good in the film rain man, but everybody seems to go to the incredible performance of dusting off man, understandably. Me and Louise have discussed this before about Tom Cruise, whereby he will be in a film with a known actor and that known actor will always be noticed more than Tom, be it Gene Hackman in the firm, Robert Duvall in days of Thunder, or Paul Newman in the colour of money. They’re looking at the 1996 first film. Hitchcock stylings. “ there is no I in Tom!” Ving Rhames. Vanessa Redgrave. Jean Reno. Jon Voight has Jim Phelps.

The Gerry Anderson Podcast - (0:01) teaser trailer: trailer for episode 168.

Spyhards - (1:30) episode 25: February 2nd 2021: Scott & Cam are looking at the second official James Bond film, From Russia With Love, starring Sean Connery, the best Bond. Cam is right in that if you were used to the Roger Moore films, and then watched this as your first non-Moore film, it would be odd. Blue nightie! Instagram post required for that one guys! Sad story about Pedro Armendaraz. Die Hard Hards. The last bond film that Ian Fleming would see before he died. Incidentally, also the last film altogether that John F Kennedy saw, as he had a special screening two days before his untimely death in Dallas! North By Northwest and The 39 Steps nods. High-fibre diet?

Something For Nothing: The Rush Fancast - (0:55) episode 46: the third of the four parts of Steve & Gerry looking at the Moving Pictures album. Bass intro is Lex playing Limelight. Intro. Email from Jeff. Interesting idea that I might do something similar with… song four is the fabulous Limelight (also the title of a great Charlie Chaplin film). The whole idea behind the song hits home wherein if you work in a creative field you can feel difficult with people getting in your face and the demands required for promotional and fandom. A cage made of gold is still a cage! The history of “Lethe word “limelight” being to set fire to limestone to provide light. Piling on Jon Bon Jovi. The guitar solo. “If ten was a hundred!” Song five, which is the opening song of side two, is the almost eleven minute The Camera Eye. Just another corner. John Despasos. John Steinbeck quote. The last song by rush to be over 10 minutes long. I’m looking forward to the fourth part of this quadrilogy about the moving pictures album.

Jeff & Jared Save The World - (0:47) August 18th 2021: “ we want death threats!” Benjamin Button. Guy with his penis in an exhaust pipe. “Banana in the tailpipe.” “Should’ve gone for a better car!” Worst tune-up ever. Recasting The Suicide Squad as The Homicide Squad - OJ Simpson, etc. “The glove doesn’t fit!” Eric Cartman as Dog The Bounty Hunter. I never knew about the Matthew Broderick story. Wow. Jeff‘s impression of Kaitlin Jenner, LOL. “Oscar Patrosis doesn’t have a leg to stand on!” I shouldn’t find that funny, but it is. Perfect casting for a Jake and the fat man reboot. “Old people on Facebook.” Jeff and Jared cat fishing. Rusty Hackenberg. “Cool movie idea?” Apologies and disclaimers.

Binge Bros - (0:56) August 27 2021: Natty & Joey. New Spidey trailer reactions. Message for Natty & Joey - Spider-Man is still a Sony ownership but partnered by Marvel/Disney. Free Guy still killing it at the cinema. Hollywood deal shows that Chris Pratt is getting $1.4m per episode for an upcoming television series. Jeff Bridges will be getting $1m per episode for another show. Robert Downey Jr reportedly making $2m per episode for an upcoming HBO series. Trailers for the upcoming seasons of The Morning Show and foundation. New Ghostbusters film is apparently good. Ted Lasso discussion. The White Lotus. Natty’s reactions from his first watch ever of the first Kung Fu Panda.

Bad Counsel - (1:14) episode 56: Tim, Gregg, Jack and Katy are back after a short break, to bring us more of their perfect advice. Happy birthday Gregg. “Stop talking about Jack’s cans!” Jack sings around 4 minutes in. Message from Dave Mojo. Gregglicious from the Somewhat Damaged podcast. Listener’s feedback. Erica’s dolphin thing. 1- guy’s daughter had topless party while he and his wife were out. Unfortunately he’s enjoying the CCTV footage of his daughter’s female friends too much. What should be do with the video. Katy mentions the film American Beauty. Professional note from me - most CCTV saves all of the cameras to a single file, so you can’t split each camera to a separate file, and the storage required is incredible! 2 - Roro wants advice on so many questions. “Dickless” shout out to South Africa. Ooh, new section Jack & Gregg against Twitter. “ that’s my dog licking you!” This week’s edition of Gregg’s guide to Human Anatomy - weenus’s. 3 - guy’s girlfriend asked if they had their redwings. “How should I respond?” I wouldn’t. “Eating the placenta?” - yeah, didn’t some actor do that? “Shit and piss jokes.” 4 - missed number four. 5 - guy was “noodling” and a snapping turtle bit his toe. “Get a rod!” 6 - Ha ha ha, this guy during Covid has told his wife that he has a job, we are really what is doing is going to a friends house and staying over for five days or five nights, just care away from her. Yeah... oh dear, add to that that he’s been spotted in a nearby bar by his wife’s best friend, and he has almost run out of money that was in the bank account through what he’s been spending, pretending that he has this big job! Gregg’s therapy option is gold! “Life saved.” That ending-where was Jack going to go with that conversation? Is that the extra footage they get for following them on Patreon?

The rock guys - (0:18) episode 35: August 29, 2021: this time Bobby is speaking about the band known as wasp! Yes, I know who they are, and I’m looking forward to this one. Blackie Lawless to the max! Rock on. Circus Circus. Formed 1982. He shouts out to Matty from Astroleague Podcast. 15 studio albums! I would have picked that album as well, Bobby! Rock trivia cool. Good charting positions for metal. Inspired by Barney.

Some random tunes I listened to.

Buried On The Tundra - (0:10)March 14th 2021: this time B Nicole is talking about the domestic violence case that ended in the death of Cheryl Sakar at Crooked Creek, Alaska. Suggestion to check out an art project by Amber Webb.

We Were On A Break - (0:33) episode 23 December 30th 2020: Chris has survived being in the same place on Christmas Day with both his ex-wife and Geraldine. The eldest son loved having both sides of his family with him for Christmas, which made Chris & Geraldine happy to see him smiling and happy. They want listeners to contact them with their own shittiness. “Send us your shit!” The subject is what’s happened in 2020. Chris was cheating. Covid-19. “Excellence at being stupid!” Info: to find this show on Spotify, look for “wwoab”, because looking the title up won’t find it! That’s a very interesting point that Geraldine has come up with. She is saying that because Covid has forced them to be at home together more, it’s actually meant that they have been able to try and sort the shit out. They bought vinyl records from Shaun and Dave from Vinyl Days.
