The Pod Files - Monday August 8 2022 part two

Recently I tried separating The Pod Files to shorter posts when there were multiple shows listened to, but I’m not sure what the reaction was to those, or whether to log everything altogether in one long post.

What do you guys think?

The ‘casts -

(Notes spoken to Siri, and edited later if I remember)

Merriam Webster’s Word Of The Day - (0:02) July 30 2022: ineffable

The Book Realm - (0:25) July 25 2022: DL could do shows for the previous days as she was swamped and tired. Library trip details with the family. DNF’ed both Frankie Stein and Cherry. I think DNF is Did Not Finish? She’s now listening to the audio book Into Each Generation A Slayer Is Born, which is obviously something to do with Buffy The Vampire Slayer. I too own all of Buffy on DVD as I do with Angel as well. Checked out five books and DNF’ed a book she’s got fifty pages into, which is Devil House by John Darnell. Female Of The species. Goosebumps. Be Careful What You Wish For. Give Me Your Heart by Joyce Carrol Oates. There’s Someone Inside Your House. Well done on the Duolingo, DL. It’s not hoarding if it’s booms, and she has no shelf control.

The Slowdown - (0:05) episode 342: March 17 2020: new bitesized show for me.  Jenny Xie covering for Tracy K Smith. Starts with Jenny taking about the experience of seeing films at a cinema, and memories. After this she reads the great poem Paramount by Robin Costello Lewis.

We Were On A Break - (0:35) season 2 episode 32: May 11 2022: “get a job people!” “Johnny Depp and Amber Turd.” Shows predicting future events. Mother’s Day in the USA. “Fresh out of macaroni.” Video posted on the show’s socials. Parents more giving as grandparents. Quote from a song by Nas.

One Minute Movie Reviews - (0:04) August 9 2022: Mikey looks at the Netflix documentary Trainwreck Woodstock 1999.

Save Room For Dinner - (0:34) June 6 2022: sloppy Joe’s and pasta. George is his family chat over dinner. I need to look up Lisa Frank stationery. Chatting about the oncoming end of the school year, and what they need to do. Their dog Sadie made me jump!

TEDx Shorts - (0:06) May 18 2021: our history and future in ice

Daily Dad Jokes - (0:04) July 31 2022

This Goose Is Cooked - (0:08) episode 296: August 9 2022: We review the book "Cows Can't Fly" David Milgrim.

Naked Scientists In Short - (0:06) episode 273: June 27 2014: can we use faces as passwords

Word Of The Day - (0:02) July 31 2022: menagerie

The Icarus Complex - (0:47) season 4 episode 9: August 9 2022: The One With Alice Part 2 “Liam starts a new job signifying the end of an era and a friendship at Blockbusters. As Liam’s time at University finally draws to an conclusion, both he and Alice grow closer.” Damn it, another great cliffhanging ending. This show just gets better!

Daily Dad Jokes - (0:03) August 1 2022

Naked Scientists: Question of the Week - (0:03) episode 71: July 27 2009: Setting The Pace

Merriam Webster: Word Of the Day - (0:01) August 1 2022: frolic

Sanjida Sayz - (0:06) January 20 2021: more great suggestions from Sanjida for things to do with notebooks.
