SmartLess - (0:41) August 3 2020: One from the archive. “don’t threaten me with the record button!“ Will is enjoying some lovely Reese’s pieces. This episode’s guest is the actress and comedian Melissa McCarthy. Jason’s centre parted bouffant gets a lot of attention. Melissa’s drive to school as a kid going past the prison. “Don’t look at them, you’ll only rile them up!” Working with her husband. The anecdotes about the guys watching the film bridesmaids. Does she approach comedic and dramatic roles differently? The lonely heckling guy when she was doing stand-up. I think what she did for that audition sounds right to me. Goth period. Gardening. After Melissa leaves the chat, they carry on talking between themselves.

How about that time someone gave you horrible advice and you listened?! That's what this episode is all about, plus some of my own advice.” Shout out to the Podcaster Jay Shetty.
Seaside Pod Review - (0:49) 17 November 2022: Randy and Kev are back to check out a randomly chosen song by Queen. First up is them catching up. Including telling us about a sponsor they now have. Good bit about how they have changed up technically the way they listening show to the songs. Feedback from listeners and further information they have found about the previous episode’s song, The Prophet’s Song. The great story about Kenny Everett stealing an unfinished copy of the song and playing it on the radio, scaring a just woken up Brian May. Building harmonies on stage with just Freddie’s voice. Twitter Paul reaction. I think the song probably came out very popular. “Well well well Mr Randy!” Feedback from Paul of the great podcast in the lap of the pods, another superb show about Queen! After this chat they then let the “mighty wheel of randomness” choose the song for this week, which is Somebody To Love. Those intro vocals. Freddie’s piano. Gospel influenced backing vocals. John Deacon’s “in the pocket” bass. A great tangent into the isolated Brian May guitar track. The difference between the centre harmony section on The Prophet’s Song in comparison to the one in this song. Using pool cues for drumsticks, LOL. Should Kev and Randy introduce the audience to their friend Truck?
Let’s Not Be Kidding with Gavin Crawford - (0:35) season 1 episode 1: May 1 2023: “Another Donna, Another Donna”this might be a tough listen, with my mum having Alzheimer’s, but also possibly helpful in a strange way? Very brave of someone to make a show like this though! Gavin talks about the situation with his own mum’s dementia, and ways that they cope with the situations therein. It starts with Gavin telling us about his mum’s strange ways over the years, even before the dementia. Gavin introduces himself to people, a comedian over the years who has been on sketch shows and quiz shows. Gavin is chatting with show producer Rachel Marlot, who wrote the memoir Dead Man Walking. Gavin has been navigating life for the last nine years around his mum’s dementia. He wants to talk about it because he doesn’t want to forget his mum’s own sense of humour. His sister Regan. His mum’s fight with cancer as well. The history of his mum. His friend Carey Sackney. His mum’s kindness. His mum’s journal about Gavin’s eighth birthday party. No one was able to visit while covid lockdowns were in place, and she changed drastically over that time. Can you turn the heating up? She was always doing something. Ringing him by accident when she was meant to be ringing someone else. “A day in 2016 where there was no normal anymore.” “The beyond shit burger.” “Gay sons and their demented moms!”
Comicbook Nation - (1:15) 19 May 2023: starts with a great impression of Vin Diesel by Kofi, who is joined in the studio by Matt and Connor, with Janell at home. First up they’re joined by Spencer Perry to discuss Fast X. “The Jason Mamoa Show.” Meadow Walker has a cameo. After the discussion, Kofi and Spencer give their rankings for the F&F films. BREAK. Janell image froze for the guys in the studio, but not for the viewers. What’s on streaming. New remake for White Men Can’t Jump. Ant Man and The Wasp Quantumania on Disney Plus. I agree with Kofi in that it’s a bad film. Kofi’s attempt at Kang’s voice. Dungeons And Dragons Honor Among Thieves on Paramount Plus (not in the U.K.). Comics - Spider-Man 26 in the news, Titans 1, and Avengers 1. “Screw you…”
