The Pod Files - Monday 25 December 2023

Yes, once again I worked a night shift on Christmas night, as well as Christmas Eve night time as well. It’s the way life is. Abused as a child, and it has carried on into adulthood, although obviously not in the same way. It’s still like a mental torture when I remember family get togethers at Christmas when I was a child.

Merry Christmas to everyone, or whatever the greeting is for those who don’t partake, but instead have other thingummajigs going on.

The ‘casts -

(Notes spoken to Siri, and edited later if I remember

(Changed tactic now where starred dialogue denotes quoting from the show’s own notes)

The Gerry Anderson Podcast - (1:22) pod 289: 25 December 2023: intro includes a Christmas message. Chat. Opening 30 year old Anderson based crackers that were purchased from Boots the chemist. Fab fact - puppets named after real life people. Christmas bombshell. Listeners feedback. Terry Adlam joins them for some festive fun and to chat more about his history working with Gerry Anderson. Puns good and questionable from listeners. Listeners feedback. Randomiser - Chris is joined by Terry to watch and talk about his experiences of the Terrahawks episode A Christmas Miracle. Great background details on the special effects creation. Outro. Post show banter - more Christmas cracker reaction.

It’s a bit more than 65 light-years away. That means the light we see from Aldebaran tonight, traveling at 670 million miles per hour, actually left the star 65 years ago — in 1958.
