Reelblend - 7 February 2025: presented by Sean, Kevin, Jake and Gabe. One of many shows that I’ve got so far behind on, because of other shows that I’m having to listen to. That’s not alone, but I’m just saying. Anyway, it was announced this week that this show is ending with an episode on the 28th of this month. I have spoken with Sean, and expressed to him that in my opinion, these guys were more than the gold standard in entertainment reporting for podcast, but where in fact platinum standard. Best of luck for the future to all four of them. also, if you are a fan of film, and books about films, you would do well to look up any of Sean O’Connell’s books, because all of them are great! Watch this space for the next book, that’s coming. Anyway, on with my notes. Gabe gets in the Tom Brady punchline. First up they look at how their predictions for what films would be big ratings hits in 2024 turned out. After a break they pick their choices for what they predict will be ratings hits in the year ahead. I love the sound of the film that Sean has pictures number three, which is the forthcoming Darren Aronofsky film about baseball. I am a sucker for baseball films! Break. Reaction to the trailer for fantastic for first steps. Jurassic World Rebirth. What trailers are they expecting for the Super Bowl.

Being James Bond - Episode 263: 21 February 2025: James Darlington looks at the announcement regarding Ian, stepping down from control of the bond franchise, and ending the rains over for the majority to Amazon films, he’s right that had a bond film for four years, and as much as I really dislike no time to die, I can see where it comes from where it’s basically just an end of the Daniel Craig, although I think they say something about all the other films before that as well. With that in mind, though, the more I think about it, and I’ve been down on him as well lately, so my mind has changed a bit. it is a clean slate, essentially for Amazon to put something together, without the incredible baggage of all of those previous films, if they wanted to do it that way.

Face The Music: An Electric Light Orchestra Song by song Podcast - episode -024: [Patreon extended episode] this time, the Eric‘s look at the Barryman and Cynthia wheel composition cover version. Don’t make my baby blue, performed by The Move, from the album Shazam. I need to listen to more music by the move, because I had an actually listened to this album before now, and this songrocks almost as much as early Black Sabbath, which is ironic considering that the drummer Bev Bevan would be in Black Sabbath for awhile. Great discussion about the original by Frankie Lane, which has some really good music on it. Not a surprise really, when you consider the ET, the wrecking crew doing the music! Mention of the version by The Shadows. Thoughts from Troy.

The Possession, Anneliese Michel - Anneliese Michel was a troubled young girl who believed that Demons wanted her soul. / After 67 exorcisms, her parents and two priests were taken to court for their involvement in the crime. Be Kind & Stay Safe Fear Cult! Sweet Dreams, Lights Out [Ashley does a great job with this first ever episode from three and a half years ago. The script is good, with the occasional off script inflections adding more depth. It’s similar in style to how Carissa presents Beauty Unlocked, and that’s a great thing, because that gives the whole thing a sense of honesty, humanity, and realism. Interesting that this is the basis for what would become the film The Exorcism of Emma Rose.]
Leave the Gun, Take the Cannoli - 4 February 2025: Introducing ‘Leave the Gun, Take the Cannoli’ [The Godfather is an award winning film, that is worthy of all the awards that it has received, although I prefer the second of the films personally.
