Extended time off part three

Saturday 28 June 2025 -

Awake at ten to eight after getting to sleep around 3 o’clock, and having woken in the night initially at 4:30am.

I did some more editing, and moved some stuff around. The plan is to have the books needed for podcasts in the spare room, which I refer to as the office. I don’t think that Louise likes me calling it that. It just makes sense to have the books there, so that if anything is mentioned, then the information is at hand.

A bigger bookcase would be great in there to be honest, but beggars can’t be choosers.

We watched the latest episode of Celebrity Gogglebox, which had been on the previous night. It feels good to be up to date on something.

I did some research for tonight’s recording of When They Was Fab, where Ed and myself will be speaking with three different people that have released cover versions of Beatles songs, and we will be asking them questions about that exact subject.

We watched the fabulous film Julie & Julia again, which is available at the moment on Tubi, but not for long!

A fun episode of When They Was Fab was recorded, which I’m not sure of how much to say. I think it was on Wednesday or Thursday that Ed asked me to contact one of the three guests, and see if they were up for taking part.

The other two were already arranged, and had been for a good few weeks, if not more than a month. This third guest though was a great bonus, and all that I will say, to keep the surprise element, is that it is a musician who has at one time played with Paul McCartney on a long term basis as a band member.

It was a late-ish night again. I logged into the conversation at around twenty past ten, with it arranged for half past, and Ed was already talking with this third guest. I wish that I had logged in sooner to be honest, because the third guest was only available up until 11:30pm my time. They were in Manhattan, ready for a performance that evening their time, as they’re five hours behind the U.K.

We finished the whole recording session for about half past midnight, which included Ed and myself recording a separate intro, with some news placed therein.

I think that I fell asleep somewhere between a quarter past and half past one, woke up at half past four for the toilet, and then woke up again at about twenty past six.

Sunday 29 June 2025 -

I didn’t get back to sleep after waking up at twenty past six.

We put the BBC iPlayer on, and watched some performances from Glastonbury which included Inhaler, En Vogue, and Gary Numan.

I did some more editing for Toppermost of the Poppermost. The show that is a constant stream of editing, because we record so much for it.

I kept nodding off in the evening, so eventually gave in and had a nap. The nap became about five put together, each with different weird dreams.

A work in progress - the books are
all there, but now need arranging.
Dream number one was were we own an adult German Shepherd dog, a small black Labrador puppy, and a black cat. The cat was being chased around and attacked by the German Shepherd, with the cat getting close at times to having it’s head literally bitten off, each time being saved by me shouting at the latter dog.

Another dream was of me having been asleep and waking up locked inside a security cabin in total pitch black darkness, at a site I worked on a long time ago in Chesterfield.

After the nap time, we watched the film 80 For Brady, which stars Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, Sally Field, and Rita Moreno. A fun film.

We watched The Good Life season one episode seven, which is the final episode of that initial 1975 first season. Do you know what?.. We used to call them series back in the day such as series one and the like. We seem to have adopted the whole “season” thing. When did that happen?

Anyway, I think I went to sleep sometime between 1:50am and about a quarter past two.
