Samira’s family apparently had a video recorder in 1975! This time they are looking at the television of September 1975. We were definitely living in the U.K. at that point, although I’m not sure where we lived exactly. 57% of people were watching in black and white. Man About The House and The Two Ronnies, each of which would average around 18 million households per week. The series Angels started this month in 1975. A show about nurses. Directed by Julia Smith, who co-wrote it with Tony Holland. In 1982 they would give us Eastenders, which they created. Songs in the charts, films, radio and culture. The kids tv show Shadows. Leap In The Dark. Fawlty Towers, the John Cleese and Connie Booth written series. The first episode aired on BBC 2 on Friday he 19th of September 1975. The Roy Clarke created police comedy The Growing Pains of PC Penrose. Roy also created the classic British television show Last of the Summer Wine. Space 1999 debuted on Thames Television on Saturday the 6th of September. Samira talks about the different specific time slots for British Children’s television. ITV were allowed in 1972 to start broadcasting in the daytime. Animal Kwackers. Based on the American show The Banana Splits. Samira says that it was a noisy show like The Tweenies.

But if the parasitic female is a related species, she may have an advantage. After studying the nests of Common Eiders, such as the one pictured here, researchers at the University of Gothenburg in Sweden determined that trickery among close relatives of the nest owners caused no aggression. But the attempts of unrelated females often resulted in conflict.
