Ri’s Records - episode 8: 19 October 2025: Ri looks at Bruce Springsteen’s sixth studio album, Nebraska. This album is very different famously from anything else in his “studio” releases, whereby it is a set of home recorded four-track demo recordings, that were taken to his band The E Street Band to work up to full band recordings. The official word is that they apparently didn’t quite have the same emotional impact, so the decision was made to just sequence Bruce’s demos together, and release them as they were, with all of the instrumentation (vocals, guitars, percussion, harmonica, and glockenspiel) performed by Bruce. Ten of the songs from his home demos made the album, with other songs from this period being reworked by The E Street Band for release as future b-sides or songs on the follow up album Born In The USA. The songs from these writings that would go onto that album included the title track, Downbound Train, and I’m On Fire, among others. Nebraska is an album that I do love, but have to be in the right mood for. As someone who records with a four-track cassette recorder, and has done for over thirty years, I can respect what’s there. I’m contemplating buying the soon to be released reissue, which will apparently include the E Street Band recordings that have remained in the vault until now.

Seaside Pod Review - episode 62: 4 January 2024: presented by Kev and Randy as always. Catch up chat to start with. Randy isn’t drinking beer because it’s January, and Kev is finishing th fridge beer first. They had a quiz online at the weekend. Kev has bowled for the first time in about four weeks. Curling/ice bowling question from Randy. Feedback from listeners about the previous episode’s song, the Roger Taylor written and sung Tenement Funster. After his they look at the song chosen randomly for this week, which is Ride The Wild Wind, which is another Roger written song, but credited to the whole band. I’ve often wondered why they chose the programmed drums rather than the real drums that I think were recorded but not used. Kev mentions the fact that Roger Taylor was offered the job of drummer with Genesis around the same time or earlier than Phil Collins. I wonder if the following episode will see them listening to the version with real drums or Roger’s demo?

Father Williams, his body partially inverted with external organs, shows Margaret the "real Bible" written on living skin, revealing that humanity, Earth, and everything else are just IT's dream of food— the thirty families are actually antibodies trying to wake IT before the dream becomes real and must be properly digested. The priest attacks with the murder knife, declaring himself the true killer this time, as the church transforms into a throat and Margaret flees through a cemetery where every open grave shows her dying repeatedly. The knife now crawls independently, hunting Margaret through the streets as she realizes everyone may be lying about the solution.
