New Podcasts - 16 January 2026: *Do I detect a problem? - Do I detect a problem? is the brand-new visualised podcast hosted by James Deacon, where he invites a guest to partake in his latest hobby (metal detecting), as they embark on a search for gold. But buried treasure isn't the only thing they're trying to uncover, James digs below the surface of his guests to reveal much more. Launching on Friday 16th January, the first guest is Sleaford Mods' Jason Williamson, who opens-up about therapy, killing his ego and new perspectives on old rivalries (specifically with Idles frontman Joe Talbot). The pair also discuss Sleaford Mods' upcoming album (The Demise of Planet X) and how it came to feature Gwendoline Christie, as well as Jason's on-screen career. Do I detect a problem? breaks the physical boundaries of the usual podcast format. It takes the show out of the studio, and is shot entirely outside on a 360° camera. This production method allows for an even more intimate and uninhibited interview, lending itself to both visual, and audio-only listeners. It's just James, his guest and two metal detectors in an open field. James Deacon is the creator, and former host of Desert Island Dicks until Harriet Kemsley took over the reins. He has also produced a number of hit podcasts, including David Tennant Does a Podcast With..., At Home with the Williamses (with Robbie and Ayda Williams), and You About? with Roman Kemp and Tom Grennan.
