The Pod Files - Thu and Fri 19 to 21 Feb 2026

On Thursday and Friday at work I was training someone up, so it was two nights of quiet in the van, and my listening was just the journeys to and from work. This is why there is such a small amount of listening, but it was fun listening (except when I was having problems with my phone - fiddling with a phone while driving isn’t the best or safest of situations).

The ‘casts -

(Notes spoken to Siri, and edited later if I remember

(Changed tactic now where starred dialogue denotes quoting from the show’s own notes

Naked Scientists In Short - Episode 189: 19 October 2012: *Man-made salt marshes, ground heat, storms - This week in the Planet Earth Podcast: why salt marshes are so important, but are difficult to recreate; how storms are made; and why the ground beneath our feet could provide decades of natural heating.

7 Good Minutes - 25 November 2025: *7 Good Minutes: Extra - A cluttered mind is like ... - In today's 7 Good Minutes: Extra segment, we explore the powerful metaphor of the mind as a garden that needs conscious tending. Clyde reflects on how mental clutter accumulates like weeds and shares wisdom about becoming the gentle gardener of your own consciousness.

Radio Headspace - episode 45: 4 June 2021: *Show Yourself A Little More Grace - It can be difficult seeing ourselves through the lens of grace and compassion. It's important to remember that our expectations for ourselves and who we actually are, are not separate. We are all a work in progress, and that work requires us to have more compassion toward ourselves as we continue to evolve.

Holidays After Dark - episode 96: 9 December 2025: *Christmas 2025 Part Three: Naughty & Nice with CJ and Gerry - In this episode, CJ from the Rose Suchak Ladder Podcast and Gerry D. from Totally Rad Christmas join Kristin and debate their naughty and nice lists for the holiday season! [Me and Louise like It’s A Wonderful Life, but dislike A Christmas Story. The latter is about a kid wanting a gun for Christmas. We aren’t talking toy guns here, but an air rifle that shoots pellets. Even they can cause some damage if they hit someone in the eye at close range! That’s all probably a snide way of promoting the gun association in America.]

Pilot TV - season 1 episode 1: 5 Sep 2018: *Trailer - Pilot TV Podcast is a weekly show bringing the biggest TV news and reviews from the team behind Pilot TV Magazine.

Full Cast And Crew - episode 267: 12 February 2026: *'Hooper' (1978) - Choosing 'Hooper' out of a combination of desperation and momentary podcast apathy, and seeking a distraction and light entertainment, I discover instead a beautifully realized love letter to Hollywood stunt performers inside an impressive movie-about-making-movies. [I loved this deep dive that Jason did into a film that I have always enjoyed, even when I saw it as a kid. I was already a fan of Smokey and the Bandit, and some other films. It was around 1981 o when I saw the film on the television. And over the years have gained an appreciation of the film, with it’s look at Hollywood, and how it treats the people who are almost always ignored by those giving the awards out, the stunt persons. A superb Burt Reynolds film, also featuring Sally Field, Jan Michael Vincent, Brian Keith, and James Best. I love Jason’s look at the late Hal Needham’s life and career. I knew that Hal Needham, the director, had previously been a stuntman and a stunt coordinator, as well as Burt’s stunt double for many televisions shows and films before this time.]
