Thursday 9th April 2026

Woke up at 7:30, had breakfast, and fell asleep until 10am. That’s probably because we were watching 1883 until late, and then I played some games on my phone. 

Radio and podcast listening. 

Blogging. 

Money stuff - sorted out getting a portion of the money in my private pension pot. 

We watched 1923 Season 1 episode 8. Season 2 episodes 1-4.

Woke up at 8:50am

We watched the recent Liam Neeson starring film The Naked Gun - I thought we would try the new version with Liam Neeson, which Louise had been mentioning since it showed up on Paramount Plus. It’s rubbish!

Woke up coughing at 6:30am instead of the 7:30 I wanted to wake up at. 

Dental appointment number three at Newark - left home just after 9am, arrived in Newark at 11:15am. 

I started writing lyrics for a song on the bus journey from the dentists back home. 🚌 

We watched the film Brooklyn starring Siorse Ronan. 

Another great Quorn Roast dinner.

A lovely Bread and Butter Pudding.

Thursday 16th April 2026 

I sat while Louise watched a few episodes of Married At First Sight Australia, which led to me saying that an incident on the show should have got the producers to terminate the show because of what I saw as bullying from many towards one person, and the psychological damage that could cause. 🇦🇺 

Podcast listening. 

Wrote a short song about daisies - words and music. It’s a ukulele song at present. 

I watched the great documentary McCartney: The Hunt for the Lost Bass on the BBC iPlayer, all about the original Hofner “Violin” bass that was stolen in 1972. 

We continued to watch the tv series Missed Call, episodes 3 to 5. A clever series, albeit one where I kept thinking “damn, that busybody is lucky that nobody killed her off!” 

Friday 17th April 2026

More of Louise watching Married At First Sight Australia.

A Passage of Time

  Sunday August 10th 2025 -  I got in from the Saturday night shift at twenty past five, and drifted to sleep a little after six in the morning.  A minute or so after ten in the morning, I woke up for the toilet and looked at my phone. I noticed that I had missed phone calls and messages from my aunties Carol and Ann, as well as a fairly recent message from my younger brother James. They were all asking me to contact them.  I had a feeling that I knew what it was, but I didn’t want to believe it. I messaged my younger brother James, who then rang to tell me that Mum had passed away sometime around 7:30 in the morning.  I messaged someone at work about it, who let a Director know. I misunderstood a message telling me to talk to Wayne in the office on the Monday morning, so got ready for work at the usual time, and showed up at the office at 4:40pm for the five o’clock start, to find that Andy had come in to cover for me, and was told that I was also covered for t...
