Transitions

Friday 24th April 2026

Woke up a little before eight in the morning after another rubbish night of sleep.

Louise is still not feeling well, and I’ve got a ton of things on my mind, including the thought of where I can stay if/when I go to The Podcast Show in May.

There is also the whole question of money, because I’m obviously unemployed, and I’m not on benefits.

Because of that I have made an early claim of some money from my private pension.

I did some more editing, and listened to the new Ringo Starr album, for which a quick reaction episode of the podcast When They Was Fab was recorded.

I watched some more of Better Call Saul, and am loving more surprise characters from Breaking Bad showing up.

We watched the latest episode of Your Friends And Neighbours on Apple TV - season 2 episode 4.

I watched some more Better Call Saul Saul before switching off to sleep.

Saturday 25th April

I woke up at around 8am again.

Editing

Went out for a walk.

We watched an episode of the game show The Chase

We watched The Neighbourhood on ITV-X - the first three episodes

I watched a good few more episodes of Better Call Saul

Sunday 26th April

I went to sleep far too late, waking up at around d half past eight initially, and then waking up properly around d a quarter past nine.

More editing, podcast listening and radio listening.

Me and Ed recorded an episode of When They Was Fab with our mutual friend Ken Womack, where we had a great chat about what he’s got coming up soon, where those behind The Beatles are going in the future, and what they should be looking into. We also discussed his basic first impressions of the forthcoming Paul McCartney album that he has heard, and Ringo’s latest album. There are three great books to look forward to from Ken, as well as some fabulous episodes of his podcasts, including fun episodes with Sheila E and Peter Asher. He agrees with me about something that the Beatles estate could do a sequel to as well.

Fabulous salad dinner that Louise put together with some wonderful salmon.

We watched the latest episode of Gogglebox.

I watched some more episodes of Better Call Saul, and am finally onto season six.

Monday 27th April

Woke up a couple of times in the night, finally waking up at about ten past nine in the morning.

Radio listening.

We watched Married At First Sight Australia

Podcast Listening

Editing

I listened to (and recorded) a Ringo Starr interview on Greatest Hits Radio.

I watched some World Championship Snooker.

More episodes of Better Call Saul were watched, before a late night, falling asleep after 2am.

Tuesday 28th April

Woke up at 7am.

Radio listening.

Received notification that some money that I had claimed early from my private pension had gone into my bank account. That makes things a little easier.

I will put in my notice officially now then, as I am not being given any work to do, hence no income.

Plenty of credit on the electric and gas!

Went for a walk again. Get some steps in! I’m getting bigger and bigger.

Radio listening.

Online shopping for grocery delivery.

We watched Married At First Sight Australia.

I watched some more of the World Championship Snooker and Better Call Saul.

Thursday 30th April

Someone forgot to take notes about Wednesday! Tsk tsk.

A dreadful night of sleep meant that I had less than three hours of sleep before waking up at about 6am.

The ringing in my ear has been going nonstop since the Friday previous, and was awful trying to sleep through.

Did some podcast editing and listening. I also listened to the radio.

I took part in what was called The Biggest Quiz, which was a quiz on a variety of radio stations with over 5000 of us involved. I ended up in 515th place overall I think, with me getting 35 out of the 45 questions right.

Went out for a walk.

We watched some episode of MAFS Australia.

I watched even more Better Call Saul.

Friday 1st May

Woke up at seven.

Did some editing.

Arranging recordings now, because the final dental work is this coming Tuesday.

Radio and podcast listening.

Received notification of my employment ending officially, followed by an online wage slip of nothing. Now it gets real.

Watched Married At First Sight Australia.

Went out for a walk.

Songwriting.

Watched the latest episode of Your Friends And Neighbours.

Recorded for the podcast When They Was Fab

Watched some Better Call Saul.

Saturday 2nd May

Woke up at around 8am, after staying up until about 2:30 watching stuff.

Also, I didn’t get much sleep because I was actually cold. But you know how it is, compromise meant that I didn’t get to sleep under the summer quilt that’s on the bed.

Editing, social media, emails and game playing while I waited for Louise to wake up at about a quarter to ten in the morning.

We then actually got up and ate breakfast together at the dining room table! Shocker… That rarely happens.

Radio listening.

Bananagrams.

We watched her Gogglebox.

We watched the film Rain Man for the umpteenth time.
