Monday August the 23rd, 2021 -

The Blurb -

So, I got home for twenty five past six, went to bed a bit after 8, and it took until gone nine to fall asleep.

Woke up at 2:30pm and dropped back off, waking to a 4pm alarm.

Social media and blog stuff done, as well as a trip to the supermarket.

Work was steady.

I noticed in the night that there were notifications for something to do with a trailer for the forthcoming Spider-Man film, and when I saw that the guys at ComicBook were doing a list minute bonus episode of Phase Zero, I caught the first nine minutes and then listened to the end of it as a podcast later in my shift.

Damn, that’s a great teaser trailer! - https://youtu.be/WgU7P6o-GkM

The ‘casts -

(Notes taken by Siri - other AI’s are available).

Binge Bros - (0:59) August 20 2021: Captain America 4 film has everyone on board. Movie delays. List of highest paid streaming actors had been released. Field Of Dreams tv series. Chase from Mundane Madness comes on as a guest to discuss streaming films and tv. The Bachelorette. “Chubby Tony Stark”? Review of the film Beckett on Netflix, starring John David Washington. The question of Netflix… My take is that they could easily get the rights to archive films such as the Hitchcock films, David Lean, Leone, etc. That audience isn’t catered for in the streaming world, unless you do pay per view on top of the subscription costs that you have to have. Announcement about what Natty has to watch for the first time to review on the show - the Kung Fu Panda series of films.

When They Was Fab - the second part of Ed & Jon’s look at the deluxe reissue of All Things Must Pass. Lots of news from the Beatles world. Ringo’s new ‘EP. I’m a bit off the idea of paying more than the cost of an album on CD for a four track ‘EP. Mark Ronson show on Apple TV+. Auto-tuning. Announcement coming for Let It Be box set. Now onto disc one of the ATMP set. I’d Have you Anytime - a superb Harrison/Dylan in my own opinion. My Sweet Lord / He’s So Fine / Oh Happy Day. Wah Wah. Isn’t It A Pity version one. I thought that this was written before Hey Jude? What Is Life - fabulous song. It’s funny when Ed is mentioning how quickly the four members of the Beatles caught onto things, because it reminded me of the fact that when I was in a band myself back in the day we are decided to not inform the bass player that we had a recording session coming up, so the night before the recording session the guitarist and drummer said to me “You are the bass player!“ The next day I showed up and played using roots and fifths for the most part, with some runs in between. Next up is a cover of Dylan’s If Not For You. Then there’s the country style song Behind That Locked Door. After that is the big epic Let It Down is another song The Beatles tried out. Then there’s the song Run Of The Mill. Next they look at the Jams sets. Apple Jam is eleven minutes of jamming on a vibe. It’s Johnny’s Birthday, which plagiarised the song Congratulations by Cliff Richard, which itself got sued for plagiarising a song called Far Away From Here, and then they too sued George! Plug Me In. John Lennon on ATMP?

Grumble Goat - (0:16) episode: guest Patricia McCarthy joins Mat & Veronique to grumble about toe rings. I saw trainers that have bits for toes and that made me think “ew!” Hahaha, Lord Of The Rings could have turned our differently. “Is this a podcast about grumbling or pitching good ideas?” “That’s not a secret!” “We love you Peter!” Hawaii, ringworm.

Keeping Up With The Cardassians - (1:01) episode 39 August 23rd 2021: what? They’re losing the show music? What are they all walking on? They have done the interviews with Wordburglar and Nana Visitor. Nick has see The Suicide Squad. Black Canary series. The Marvel versus DC debate. Anthony Mackie for Captain America 4. Eternals trailer. Toy Time - Marvel Legends. All of them going to see Star Trek 4 The Voyage Home? Now on with the two episodes of Deep Space Nine this time, first with Sword Of Kahless. with an actor that has a Battlestar Galactica link. Also has the Duras Sisters in the film. Actually, if truth be told, this is why I didn’t ask to talk about the second episode they’re talking about, because I actually did not like the first episode that they are talking about. When I first saw it years ago I thought it was boring, and I was worried that if I took part in this episode of the podcast and watched sword of Kahless, I would very likely fall asleep from boredom! Nick does a great Gollum impression. The second episode they’re looking at is the great Our Man Bashir. A love letter to the James Bond and spy genre in person. Joe was happy to get his Garak on! The champagne cork. What the f***?!?! That rating from Nick for Our Man Bashir! I’m sorry, that was my initial reaction. Nick obviously doesn’t like stuff that’s just plain entertainment without saying something moralistic.

Grimm, grimmer, grimmest - (0:26) episode three: Adam is reading the story the iron stove. Spoilt princess couldn’t get a friend.  The miller’s daughter. Talking toad. Three needles, a water wheel, and a walnut. I thought this too - “what was the walnut for?”

The Corona Diaries - (1:02) episode 69: August 23 2021: Ant Short & Steve “H” Hogarth. Flipping Heck’ or Holmeforth? A reformed Northerner. Ant’s taking the piss out of H’s selfies. Recorded before Ant went off on his holidays. Shure 535 inner ear pieces for H as opposed to his usual headphones. “Headphone head”. Listener’s Q&A’s. The naughtiest thing H has ever done? “I can’t possibly answer that?” Cause of death? Nose hair! The longer gap between albums. A look of Che Guevara. DIY. Hairy feet. Carry On Screaming. Carry On Cleo. What are H’s top 10 songs that were from the Fish era of Marillion? No diary reading. Oliver Twist based crooncast, hahaha!

No Fear Finance - (0:03) August 23 2021: This is interesting. Sara is looking at comparing savings accounts to retirement accounts.

The Gerry Anderson Podcast - (1:35) episode 167 August 23 2021: Intro. They want people to create a Barry White/Barry Gray crossover. Ooh, there’s now an Anderson Podcasting Network. Fab facts: things accidentally showing on camera, in this case a repetitive accidental from the Thunderbirds opening sequence. Listener’s feedback - Supercar Blu-ray in different variations, follow up from a previously mentioned item, six degrees of Anderson, and much more. News. Interview with Mark A Altman, show runner of Pandora, The Librarian, and producer of Free Enterprise. More listener’s feedback. Randomiser - Flying Zodiac from Fireball XL5. Outro. Boost show banter - don’t be alarmed.

The Old Man In The Boat - (0:10) episode 5 August 14 2021: the man explains how to cook fish. Using sweet corn as bait.

Phase Zero bonus episode 2 presenters

Phase Zero - (0:47) Bonus episode #2: special extra episode about the surprise release of a teaser trailer for Spider-Man No Way Home. T-shirt apparently needed saying “Lizard at 2:26”. Woah, suddenly the music for the break started while Jim was talking. I wondered about that “hey Peter” line as well - is he talking to Tom Holland’s Peter Parker? How many Spidey suits?
