Seaside Pod Review - 1 December 2022: Kev and Randy look at the Queen song Heaven For Everyone, which had previously been recorded and released by Roger Taylor’s band The Cross. First, there is feedback and follow up from the previous episode, were they were looking at the song we Will rock you. What a weird alternative version of We Will Rock You. I am surprised by the percentage vote from the listeners for the previous song. Onto the song in question this week, Heaven For Everyone. Okay, so I am guessing that Kev hasn’t heard the original by the cross, which did, in fact, have a real bridge, that queen didn’t include in their version. They play a section from one of the versions by The Cross. There were two versions by The Cross - one with Freddie doing lead vocals, and another version with Freddie doing the backing vocals behind Roger’s lead vocal.

It was launched with a live show in Los Angeles. The show, a production of SmartLess Media, Radio Point and Aggregate Films, remains with Wondery despite much of SmartLess's slate being signed by SiriusXM earlier in the year. [it’s a bonus for these people that they are famous, so that they can make all of this money from having a preset audience. They don’t need to do that much work to push their shows. They’re radio shows put out as a podcast, backed by big corporations.]

McCartney: A Life in Lyrics - Season 2, Episode 6: Silly Love Songs [love in films can give you a nice feeling. Songs about love. Can’t Buy Me Love - a critique on materialism. Troubadour Alan A Dale. I Will. The more episodes I listen to of season two the more I realise that they aren’t likely to be doing a third season of this show. My Love - a pure love song to Linda. My Valentine written about Nancy. Martha My Dear about Paul’s dog. John warmed to him. John was a cat person. The long and winding road. Phil Spector overproduction. Finally 22 minutes in we get the song in the episode’s title - Silly Love Songs. All those F words! This is my least favourite episode of the whole show. They have put together so many different songs that they could have made an entire season out of. They’re rushing it and wasting the chance for more great content!]
